World Migratory Bird Day shines a spotlight on the incredible journeys birds make each year and the challenges they face along the way. It’s a reminder that safe habitats aren’t just needed in far-off forests or wetlands — they’re just as vital in the cities and neighborhoods we share with birds.

In the spirit of this year’s theme, “Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities,” we’re hosting a Creating Bird-Friendly Spaces Open House at the Seward Park Audubon Center on Saturday, October 11th, from 10 AM–4 PM.

Come explore how you can make your own backyard and neighborhood safer for birds. We’ll share tips on Audubon’s Lights Out initiative, keeping cats indoors, safe bird feeder placement, and preventing window collisions. With button-making and games for kids, it’s a celebration for all ages!
