Casual walks through forested areas reveal the warmth of colors of tree bark and the coolness of deep greens found in the leaves. But the sunlight shone through the forest canopy has the power to shift those colors to a newfound brilliance. This brilliance has the power to change and uplift the experience forest can present to each of us.
Artist Hannah Salia draws her deepest inspiration from the Cascadian forests of the West Coast, exploring the intricate symbiosis between towering trees and the life of the forest floor. Working in acrylics, oils, and mixed media, she layers imagery with striking complexity, capturing the interplay of color and light across the trees and within the spaces above and below.
You’re invited to experience Hannah Salia’s work in person at the Garry Oak Room of the Seward Park Audubon Center, on view October through December.
Join us for the opening reception on October 5, from 1–3pm, and immerse yourself in a celebration of light, landscape, and artistic expression.
