Local Action for a Global Challenge

Summer 2023 has set a record for the hottest global temperature ever recorded. This record only stood for one day. It is predicted that we will break the record again before summer’s end. We have reached a place in our planet’s climate journey where effects are readily evident and increasingly impactful. One factor determining how cities will fair in the face of climate change is the amount of tree canopy cover and the cooling protection that it provides in urban areas. Is Seattle prepared?
