Born from the remnants from our clothing, cosmetics, tires and more, microplastics have been found in our food and water supply and exist in our oceans in increasing volumes. Julie E. Masura is a research scientist at the University of Washington Tacoma working to standardize methods that determine the concentration of microplastics in the marine environment. Julie will share what she has learned from a 10-year survey of water around the Puget Sound in this installment of Science, Nature & a Biscuit. Biscuit included.
