Community Roots: Pick and Plant

Saturday, February 28th                      

At Seward Park

FREE  - All Ages            

As we near the end of planting season, today we'll be picking invasive blackberry stems, planting native shrubs & trees, and laying mulch to keep cool through the summer to come.  Work together with friends, family and neighbors to build great habitat for our community of birds, wildlife and humans. Tools, gloves, training, snacks and coffee provided. Bring the whole family! High school students are eligible for four service credit hours.  Register here

 

Community Roots: Young Conservation Leaders

Saturday, March 28th

FREE  - All Ages

Come join our last planting day until fall! Follow the lead of young environmental leaders as they show you the way to a healthier community and planet. We will be clearing a small area for planting before installing native shrubs, trees and groundcover, and laying a blanket of mulch to keep plants cool and moist through summer. Register here

Earth Day at Seward Park

Celebrate Earth Day by joining young conservation leaders in building habitat for a vibrant community of wildlife, birds and people! Overlooking Lake Washington, Seward Park is also home to the largest swath of old growth forest in Seattle and over 100 species of birds. During the event, our teen leaders will explain how your actions contribute to a healthy Puget Sound and a healthy planet. Cheer them on and learn from the best as they facilitate a fun and challenging day of work.
