Community Roots Restoration

Help us protect the park you know and love.

Do you like digging in and getting dirty? Are you a master shoveler looking for an opportunity to show off your skills? Then join us for a restoration project in Seward Park!

The work you'll do with us is vitally important. Climate change has led to serious degradation of birds' natural habitat, and we're working to restore native vegetation to areas of Seward Park. Replacing invasive species enables the forest to restore its biodiversity and benefits water quality and bird habitat. A recent Audubon study found that of the 588 North American birds studied, over half will lose most of their climactic range by 2080. The work you'll do in Seward Park will help improve that statistic.

Projects are open to the public, and families are encouraged. Join fellow members of the community to make this park you love even better. Check out our events page for a current list of our restoration parties, then click on the link to register!
