Schools and Seward Park
At the Seward Park Environmental & Audubon Center we inspire exploration, discovery, and stewardship
of the natural world through enhanced learning and maturing experiences that promote healthy,
sustainable communities.
Located on a 277-acre peninsula in southeast Seattle, Seward Park features the largest remaining stand
of old-growth forest in the city, two active bald eagle nests, and a wide array of plants and animals.
Surrounded on three sides by Lake Washington, it is truly a natural oasis in the heart of Seattle
and the perfect place to teach future generations about the importance of the natural world.
We are now accepting reservations for
our education programs including the Talking
Tree, Eco
Explorations, Young
Scientists, Outside
In, Climate
Kids, and Other
School Programs.
If you have any questions, feel free to
contact the Education Director, Annie Morton, via email
or by phone at 206-652-2444 ext 102.

Working with Schools Every Day
in Every Way
The goal of all our education programs
is to provide students with science based education that fosters
an ethic of ecological and environmental stewardship in fun,
engaging atmospheres. Utilizing microscopes, nets, test kits,
live and preserved specimens, games, and most importantly
our Seward Park outdoor classroom, students are introduced
to a variety of exciting learning experiences.
All of our lessons are designed and assessed
to meet 6th through 12th grade Washington State Grade Level
Expectations (GLEs) and Essential Academic Learning Requirements
(EALRs) in Science. Our lessons take into account the vast
array of learning styles and levels, and all students and
teachers enjoy and learn from our outdoor and indoor classroom
lessons.
For more information about any of our
education programs, please contact Education Director Annie
Morton at 206-652-2444 x102 or via email. |
