Community and Seward Park

DROP IN AT THE CENTER
You don’t need to wait for Toddler Tales & Trails story time to come enjoy the books in the Seward Park Audubon Center library. Every week, families bring little ones by to visit Lumpy the tortoise and sit in the children’s corner to read books or play games. Children and adults alike enjoy peeking behind the doors of the forest community mural to see which animals live in Seward Park.

We also have exhibits about the natural and cultural history of Seward Park (rock concerts at the amphitheatre and a glacier taller than the Space Needle!) and the life cycle of trees. You can pull up a chair and a pair of binoculars to watch the birds and squirrels visit our back porch birdfeeder. Get a close up peek at real bird nests, including a tiny hummingbird nest lined with a spider web cushion!

SUPER SATURDAYS

Did you know every other weekend is a Super Saturday at the Seward Park Audubon Center, September through June? Enjoy free activities for the whole family from arts and crafts to science experiments around a specific theme of interest at the park. At our Coyote Super Saturday, people learned all about coyotes and made coyote scat ice cream. Other Super Saturdays include Bugillions of Bugs, Urban Gardening, and Science of Snow.

TODDLER AND TRAILS

Come on an adventure of reading and the outdoors! Introduce your toddler to nature with story time in our upstairs classroom. Explore the trails in Seward Park that are right outside our doors! Walks are easy and less than one mile in length. Toddler Tales & Trails occurs regularly on alternating Wednesdays from 10 AM - 11 AM and alternating Saturdays from 11 AM - 12 PM.
