CITIZEN SCIENCE

Seward Park Audubon Center is the place for citizen science. From creating a DNA fingerprint library of the park's eagles to sharing what you saw at the park today, we help community members like you get involved in real science here at the Park. Find out how you can get involved with citizen science at http://www.sewardscience.webs.com/

BIRD WATCH

Seattle Audubon’s BirdWatch program, in partnership with the Puget Sound Bird Observatory, holds bird banding demonstrations just outside the Seward Park Center on the last Saturday of each month November through May, from 9am to noon. Visitors can watch science in action as live birds are captured in mist nets, tagged with numbered color bands, and released. BirdWatch student naturalists assist with the banding, explain the project, and answer visitor questions.

BIRD COUNTS

Birders and nature enthusiasts at Seward Park join birders across the western hemisphere and participate in Audubon’s longest-running wintertime tradition, the annual Christmas Bird Count (CBC). Every February, the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) gives everyone a chance to discover the birds in their neighborhood. Seward Park facilitates these exciting and informative programs for local birders.
